9. Self-Help Is Young and Diverse – For People with HIV Under 27

Here, we offer a space where young people living with HIV can get to know each other, explore what concerns they have for the HIV community, which conference topics interest them, and how they can make the most of PoBe for themselves.

One of the biggest challenges of living with HIV is talking about it. How do I discuss my infection with new friends—or even with a potential partner? What about one-night stands—should I mention it at all? Is HIV something to be ashamed of, something no one should know about, and if so, why? Will it ever become a natural part of me that I can talk about as easily as anything else that affects me? In this session, young people with HIV up to the age of 27 will exchange perspectives on these questions.
