Capacity Building and Strengthening: Advocacy

What can we do? Building on the inputs and discussions from the previous day, we will explore how activists in Germany can engage at the international, regional, national, and potentially local levels—whether individually or in groups. The focus will be on forms and tools of advocacy, starting with the question of how we in Germany can influence national and international developments, who the appropriate recipients might be (e.g., drafting letters to parliamentarians and decision-makers), which organizations are relevant, and who plays what role in resource distribution, among other topics.
