Research Project: “AI as Your Counselor?”

Many people use AI chatbots to discuss personal concerns or relationship issues. We invite you to share your experiences and perspectives on using AI. Can AI serve as a trustworthy conversation partner for personal relief? Does talking to an AI have advantages, and if so, what are they? What opportunities and risks do you see in applying AI to highly sensitive topics like HIV? What experiences have you had? Together, we will examine a specific use case and discuss experiences, potential, and risks.

About the Project: The *AI_dshilfe labs* project is a third-party-funded initiative by Deutsche Aidshilfe, led by Simon Herchenbach and Manuel Hofmann. We explore the visions, opportunities, risks, and applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in the context of HIV/AIDS support. As part of the project’s continuation in 2026, we are conducting another participatory study with Sophie Kortenbruck on the use of AI in our work.

Important: Your contributions in the workshop will be recorded, transcribed, and anonymized for publication in a final report. By participating, you help shape the future of AI in healthcare. As the saying goes: *Nothing about us without us—especially when it comes to artificial intelligence!*
