Invisible Burdens: Mental Health in Marginalized Groups
This workshop explores why mental health issues are often taboo in our society and the additional barriers faced by marginalized groups. We analyze how mental health conditions are culturally stigmatized—through shame, notions of honor, religious interpretations, or family role expectations—and how this intersects with structural factors like discrimination and barriers to healthcare access.
